Indian Summer was an American emo band from Oakland, California, active between 1993 and 1994. The band released one EP and three split recordings, with their discography later compiled in "Science 1994" and "Giving Birth to Thunder". Their music was characterized by alternating quiet and loud passages, typical of the emo and post-hardcore genres. During their brief existence, they played nearly 100 concerts across the U.S. and Canada. The band was influenced by groups like Rites of Spring and Moss Icon and, in turn, influenced other bands in the emo scene.
