Inspiral Carpets is an English rock band formed in 1983 in Oldham. They are known as part of the Madchester movement of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their debut album, 'Life' (1990), reached number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and included the hit 'This Is How It Feels'. Subsequent albums 'The Beast Inside' (1991), 'Revenge of the Goldfish' (1992), and 'Devil Hopping' (1994) also achieved success. The band is recognized for their unique sound that blends alternative rock, indie rock, and elements of psychedelic rock. After several hiatuses, they reunited in 2022 and toured the UK in 2023.
