The International Submarine Band was an American country rock group formed in 1965 by Gram Parsons. Their sole album, "Safe at Home," released in 1968, is considered one of the first country rock albums. The band blended traditional country elements with rock influences, contributing to the development of the country rock genre. After the band's dissolution, Parsons joined The Byrds and later founded the Flying Burrito Brothers, continuing to promote country rock.
