Isengard is the solo project of Fenriz, drummer of the Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone, established in 1989. The project blends elements of death metal, black metal, and folk metal. The debut album "Vinterskugge" from 1994 is a compilation of three demos recorded between 1989 and 1993. The subsequent album "Høstmørke" from 1995 continues the integration of Norwegian folk elements with doom metal. In 2020, the album "Vårjevndøgn" was released, featuring unreleased recordings from 1989 to 1993. Fenriz performed all instruments and vocals on all albums.
