It Bites is an English progressive rock and pop band formed in 1982 in Egremont, Cumbria. Their 1986 debut album, "The Big Lad in the Windmill," featured the hit single "Calling All the Heroes," which reached number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. This was followed by "Once Around the World" (1988) and "Eat Me in St. Louis" (1989). After disbanding in 1990, the group reunited in 2006 with new vocalist and guitarist John Mitchell, releasing "The Tall Ships" (2008) and "Map of the Past" (2012).
