Ivana Gavrić is a British pianist born in Sarajevo. She studied at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and the Royal College of Music in London. Her 2010 debut album, 'In the Mists', received the 'Instrumental Choice' award from BBC Music Magazine. In 2011, she was named 'Newcomer of the Year' at the BBC Music Magazine Awards. Gavrić is known for her interpretations of works by composers such as Janáček, Grieg, and Chopin. In 2017, she released the album 'Chopin', featuring a selection of mazurkas and preludes. She has collaborated with several contemporary composers, including Cheryl Frances-Hoad, who composed the piano concerto 'Between the Skies, the River and the Hills' for her.
