Jackey Beavers was an American singer, songwriter, and producer, best known as a co-writer of the song "Someday We'll Be Together," which was recorded by Diana Ross & the Supremes and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969. Born on June 19, 1937, in Cartersville, Georgia, he recorded for several Detroit and Chicago labels, including Anna Records and Tri-Phi Records, where he collaborated with Johnny Bristol in the duo Johnny & Jackey. In the 1980s, he returned to Cartersville, focusing on gospel music and recording for the Glory label.
