Jackie Mittoo was a Jamaican keyboardist and composer, known as a founding member of The Skatalites and musical director of the Studio One label. In the mid-1960s, he formed The Soul Brothers, who recorded at Studio One during the transition between ska and rocksteady, blending elements of funk, jazz, and Latin music. Notable tracks include "Train To Skaville" and "James Bond". Mittoo later emigrated to Toronto, where he continued recording and influenced the local reggae scene.
