James Byrd is an American guitarist from Kirkland, Washington, known as a founding member of the metal band Fifth Angel. After leaving the band in 1987, he embarked on a solo career, releasing albums such as "Atlantis Rising" (1990), "Octoglomerate" (1993), and "Son of Man" (1995). His music blends heavy metal, hard rock, and classical influences. Byrd is also recognized for his own guitar design, the Super Avianti.
