Jamie Walton is a British cellist known for his deep sound and purity of tone. He has performed with leading orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and recorded ten concertos with the Philharmonia Orchestra, including works by Dvořák and Schumann under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy. In 2009, he founded the North York Moors Chamber Music Festival, which has been twice shortlisted for a Royal Philharmonic Society Award. Walton plays on a 1712 Guarneri instrument and resides in the North York Moors National Park, where he focuses on chamber music and recording.
