Janis Martin was an American singer known as the "Female Elvis" for her on-stage dance moves similar to Elvis Presley. Born in Sutherlin, Virginia, she began singing and playing guitar as a child. In 1956, she signed with RCA Victor and released her debut single "Will You, Willyum" with the B-side "Drugstore Rock and Roll," which she wrote herself. Throughout her career, she released several compilations, including "Rockin' Rollin' Janis, Vol 1" and "The Female Elvis: The Complete Recordings."
