Jarmo Savolainen was a Finnish jazz pianist, keyboardist, and composer. He studied classical piano in Finland and later continued at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He released several international albums, including "John's Sons" in 1998. His music adhered to the modernist tradition, emphasizing nuance and an intellectual approach. He collaborated with musicians such as Uffe Krokfors and Markku Ounaskari. In 1994, he received the annual Georgie Award from the Finnish Jazz Federation.
