Jars of Clay is an American Christian alternative rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 1993 at Greenville College in Illinois, the band consists of Dan Haseltine (vocals), Charlie Lowell (keyboards), Stephen Mason (guitar), and Matthew Odmark (guitar). Their 1995 debut album, "Jars of Clay," featured the hit "Flood," which reached number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100. The follow-up album, "Much Afraid" (1997), won a Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. The band is known for its unique blend of alternative rock, pop, and Christian themes.
