Jawbox is an American post-hardcore band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1989. The original lineup consisted of J. Robbins (vocals, guitar), Kim Coletta (bass), and Adam Wade (drums). Guitarist Bill Barbot later joined, and drummer Zach Barocas replaced Wade. The band released four studio albums: "Grippe" (1991), "Novelty" (1992), "For Your Own Special Sweetheart" (1994), and "Jawbox" (1996). Their most recognized song, "Savory," is from the "For Your Own Special Sweetheart" album. Jawbox disbanded in 1997 but reunited in 2009 and again in 2019. In 2022, they released "The Revisionist" EP, featuring re-recordings of earlier tracks and a cover of Wire's "Lowdown."
