Jean-Luc Fafchamps is a Belgian pianist and composer born in Brussels in 1960. He graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Mons and is a founding member of Ensemble Ictus, with whom he has performed works by composers such as Magnus Lindberg, Philippe Leroux, and Benoît Mernier. Notable works include "Attrition" for string octet and "Melencholia si..." for two pianos and percussion. In 1992, he received the UNESCO Tribune des jeunes compositeurs award.
