Jerry Fielding was an American composer, arranger, and conductor, renowned for his work on film and television soundtracks. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he began his career as an arranger for radio orchestras. Throughout his career, he received three Academy Award nominations for Best Original Score for the films "The Wild Bunch" (1969), "Straw Dogs" (1971), and "The Outlaw Josey Wales" (1976). Fielding was known for his collaborations with directors such as Sam Peckinpah, Clint Eastwood, and Michael Winner. His music was characterized by an innovative approach and the ability to capture the atmosphere of the films he worked on.
