empty cell Jimmy "Baby Face" Lewis
Jimmy "Baby Face" Lewis was an American blues guitarist and singer who gained prominence in the post-war rhythm and blues era. He performed with big bands such as the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, Floyd Campbell, and Tab Smith, where his modern electric guitar playing and confident vocals revitalized the declining swing scene. Primarily associated with the early Atlantic label, Lewis recorded a series of classic jump-blues and R&B tracks between 1947 and 1955. His career was affected by side activities that contributed to his untimely death in 1969 before reaching his 40th birthday.
