Jimmy McCracklin was an American pianist, singer, and songwriter known for his contributions to West Coast blues, jump blues, and R&B. Over his seventy-year career, he recorded more than 30 albums and wrote nearly a thousand songs. Among his most notable tracks is "The Walk," which reached No. 5 on the Billboard R&B chart and No. 7 on the pop chart in 1958. McCracklin collaborated with prominent musicians such as Lowell Fulson and Lafayette Thomas.
