Joan Shelley is an American indie folk musician from Louisville, Kentucky. She has released nine solo studio albums, including "Over and Even" (2015), "Joan Shelley" (2017), "Like the River Loves the Sea" (2019), and "The Spur" (2022). Her music is influenced by traditional folk styles from Kentucky, as well as from Ireland, Scotland, and England. Shelley frequently collaborates with her husband, guitarist and musicologist Nathan Salsburg, and has worked with artists such as Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Jeff Tweedy.
