Joe Candullo and his Everglades Orchestra were a popular jazz ensemble during the 1920s. Born in New York City, Candullo began his musical career in 1921 as a member of the Crescent City Orchestra. By 1925, his band became the resident ensemble at the Everglades Restaurant in New York. Their recordings for Harmony and Edison Phonograph Company between 1926 and 1928 are noted for their "hot dance" style. The album "Blowin' Off Steam 1926-1928" features some of their most significant tracks from this period.
