Joe Melson is an American singer and songwriter, best known for his collaboration with Roy Orbison. Together, they wrote hits such as "Only the Lonely," "Crying," and "Blue Bayou." Born in Bonham, Texas, Melson began his music career in the 1950s. In addition to his work with Orbison, he released his own recordings, including songs like "Oh Yeah" and "Hey, Mister Cupid."
