Joe Venuti was an American jazz violinist who set the standard for jazz violinists in the 1920s and 1930s. Along with guitarist Eddie Lang, he created a new style of string jazz that influenced European musicians like Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Tony Romano was a guitarist, singer, and composer known for his work in radio and Hollywood film productions in the 1930s. The 1978 album "Never Before... Never Again" captures their collaboration, with Romano playing a special Gibson L-5 guitar that belonged to Eddie Lang. The album features tracks like "You Know You Belong to Somebody Else" and "Summertime".
