Johann Adolph Hasse was a German composer and opera singer, renowned for his contributions to Italian opera in the 18th century. Born in Hamburg, he began his career as a tenor before moving to Italy to study under Nicola Porpora and Alessandro Scarlatti. Hasse composed over 60 operas, including "Cleofide" and "Artaserse". He was known for his melodic lines and harmonic clarity. His works were popular throughout Europe and influenced many contemporaries.
