Description

Released in 1966 on the Impulse! Records label, John Lee Hooker's "It Serve You Right to Suffer" is a unique blend of new compositions and reworkings of his previous songs, including a cover of Barrett Strong's hit "Money (That's What I Want)." Featuring jazz musicians Panama Francis on drums, Milt Hinton on bass, and Barry Galbraith on second guitar, this album showcases some of Hooker's finest work with a band. As part of Verve's Acoustic Sounds Series, the album has been remastered from analog tapes and released on 180-gram vinyl in a deluxe gatefold package.
