John Rocca is an English musician, producer, and remixer, best known as the founder and leader of the band Freeez. In the 1980s, he achieved success with hits like "Southern Freeez" and "I.O.U.", the latter becoming one of the first hits to utilize digital sampling. As a solo artist, he reached number one on the US dance chart in 1984 with "I Want It to Be Real". He later continued producing and remixing for various artists and released music under the pseudonym Midi Rain in the 1990s.
