Johnathan Blake is an American jazz drummer, composer, and bandleader known for his versatility and collaborations with notable artists such as Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane, and Kenny Barron. In 2021, he released his debut album for Blue Note Records titled "Homeward Bound," featuring his quintet Pentad, including alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins and vibraphonist Joel Ross. The album includes the track "Homeward Bound (For Ana Grace)," dedicated to the daughter of saxophonist Jimmy Greene, who lost her life during the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in 2012.
