Kai Krakenberg is a German organist born in 1970 in Essen. He studied sacred music at the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen under Professors Gisbert Schneider and Gerd Zacher, obtaining his A-exam in 1997. During his studies, he served as an assistant to Professor Schneider and participated in numerous courses both in Germany and abroad. Since 2005, he has been the music director, cantor, and organist at St. Mary's Church in Husum, where Nicolaus Bruhns once served. Krakenberg has performed in nearly all European countries, Russia, Asia, the United States, and Canada. His discography includes recordings of works by American, English, French, and Scandinavian composers, including Messiaen's "La Nativité du Seigneur".
