Kanaan is a Norwegian instrumental trio from Oslo, formed in 2018. The band consists of Ask Vatn Strøm (guitars), Ingvald André Vassbø (drums), and Eskild Myrvoll (bass). Their music blends elements of psychedelic rock, stoner rock, and jazz. They released their debut album, "Windborne," in 2018, followed by "Double Sun" (2020), "Earthbound" (2021), and "Downpour" (2023). Kanaan collaborated with Norwegian guitarist Hedvig Mollestad on the track "Amazon" from the "Downpour" album. In 2021, they won the Spellemann Award in the rock category. Their music is influenced by bands such as Kyuss, MC5, Sleep, and Hawkwind.
