Kara Jackson is an American poet and singer-songwriter who served as the U.S. National Youth Poet Laureate from 2019 to 2020. In 2019, she released her first EP titled "A Song for Every Chamber of the Heart." Her debut album, "Why Does the Earth Give Us People to Love?" was released in 2023 to positive acclaim. Jackson co-produced the album with Kaina, Nnamdï, and Sen Morimoto. The album is dedicated to her friend Maya, who passed away from cancer in 2016.
