Karl Seglem is a Norwegian saxophonist and goat horn player known for blending jazz with traditional Norwegian folk music. In 2018, he collaborated with Swiss pianist Christoph Stiefel on the double album "Hopp (and Smile) / Monsterjazz," which comprises two parts: "Hopp (and Smile!)" and "Monsterjazz - An Interactive Jazz Journey For All Ages." This project was designed to appeal to listeners of all ages and emphasize the playful nature of improvisation in jazz. The album was released under the Challenge Records label and received positive feedback for its innovative fusion of jazz and folk music.
