Karol Duchoň was a Slovak pop singer known for his distinctive baritone voice. He began his career in the 1970s and quickly became popular in Czechoslovakia. His most notable songs include "V slovenských dolinách," "Dievča z Budmeríc," and "Čardáš dvoch sŕdc." He collaborated with several well-known artists, such as Marcela Laiferová and Dušan Grúň. In 1974, he won the Golden Bratislava Lyre for the song "Zem pamätá." He performed at international festivals, including the Yamaha Festival in Tokyo in 1975.
