Katatonia, the Swedish band known for their transition from death/doom metal to dark gothic rock, presents the album 'Discouraged Ones'. Recorded in 1997 at Sunlight Studios under the direction of Fred Estby and Tomas Skogsberg, this album marked a significant shift for the band. The original epic compositions were replaced with compact structures, and growling vocals gave way to melodic harmonies by Jonas Renkse, who also played drums on the album. 'Discouraged Ones' is considered a breakthrough album for Katatonia, laying the foundation for their current sound. This edition is released on limited orange marbled vinyl with the original cover artwork.
