Keane is an English alternative rock band from Battle, East Sussex, formed in 1995. The current lineup consists of Tom Chaplin (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Tim Rice-Oxley (piano, synthesizers, bass guitar, backing vocals), Richard Hughes (drums, percussion, backing vocals), and Jesse Quin (bass guitar, guitar, backing vocals). Original guitarist Dominic Scott left the band in 2001. Their debut album, "Hopes and Fears" (2004), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and won the Brit Award for Best British Album. Subsequent albums include "Under the Iron Sea" (2006), "Perfect Symmetry" (2008), "Strangeland" (2012), and "Cause and Effect" (2019).
