Ken Thorne was a British composer known for his work on film and television soundtracks. His notable works include adapting John Williams' music for Superman II and Superman III, as well as composing for Help! and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Thorne won an Academy Award for Best Music for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in 1966. Throughout his career, he collaborated with director Richard Lester and contributed to numerous television projects, including the series Return to Lonesome Dove.
