Kenny Ball was an English jazz trumpeter and bandleader, known for his role in the traditional jazz revival of the 1960s. In 1958, he formed Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen, achieving international success with "Midnight in Moscow" in 1961. This track reached number two on both the UK and US charts and sold millions of copies. Ball's band was renowned for its Dixieland style, producing other hits like "Samantha" and "March of the Siamese Children."
