Khatia Buniatishvili is a Georgian-French concert pianist born in 1987 in Tbilisi. She began studying piano at the age of three under her mother's guidance and gave her first concert with the Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra at six. She studied in Tbilisi with Tengiz Amirejibi and in Vienna with Oleg Maisenberg. Buniatishvili is known for her recordings of works by Liszt, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff under the Sony Classical label. She has collaborated with prominent orchestras and conductors, including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta.
