Killing Joke was an English post-punk band formed in Notting Hill, London, in 1979. The original lineup consisted of Jaz Coleman (vocals, keyboards), Paul Ferguson (drums), Geordie Walker (guitar), and Youth (bass). Their debut album, "Killing Joke," was released in 1980. In 1985, they achieved mainstream success with the album "Night Time" and the single "Love Like Blood," which reached the top ten in Belgium, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. Their musical style, rooted in post-punk, is characterized by a heavier approach and has influenced many later bands, such as Metallica, Nirvana, and Nine Inch Nails. In 1994, they released the album "Pandemonium," which became their best-selling work. After Geordie Walker's death in 2023, the band ceased its activities.
