King Jammy, born Lloyd James in Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a prominent reggae and dub producer. He began his career in the 1970s as a dub engineer at King Tubby's studio. In the 1980s, he gained fame for producing Wayne Smith's "Under Me Sleng Teng," considered the first digital riddim in reggae. This milestone initiated the digital dancehall era. Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists like Black Uhuru, Dennis Brown, and Sizzla. His innovative approach and contribution to the digitalization of reggae have made him a pivotal figure in the genre's history.
