Klein Orkest was a Dutch band formed in 1978 in The Hague. The group consisted of Harrie Jekkers, Niek Nieuwenhuijsen, Chris Prins, and Leon Smit. Their debut album, "Het Leed Versierd," was released in 1982 and included tracks like "Laat Mij Maar Alleen" and "Over 100 Jaar." In 1984, they released "Later Is Al Lang Begonnen," featuring the hit "Over de Muur." This was followed by "Roltrap Naar De Maan" in 1985. The band was known for their socially engaged lyrics and a blend of pop, rock, and folk music. In 1987, they released the compilation "Het Beste Van Klein Orkest." The group disbanded in 1985 but reunited for a tour between 2017 and 2019.
