Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra is an American Afrobeat band from New York City, formed in 2001 by Ray Lugo. The group is known for its unique fusion of Afrobeat rhythms with elements of funk, jazz, and Latin American music. Notable albums include "Fuss and Fight" (2002), "More Consideration" (2004), "Love International" (2007), and "Heavy Hustling" (2009). Kokolo has collaborated with artists such as Jojo Kuo and Charlie Hunter and is considered part of the revival of the Afrobeat scene in New York.
