Kris Delmhorst is an American singer-songwriter originally from Brooklyn, New York, now residing in western Massachusetts. Over more than 25 years as an independent artist, she has released nine studio albums, including "Appetite" (1998), "Five Stories" (2001), "Songs for a Hurricane" (2003), and "Strange Conversation" (2006). Her music spans the folk and Americana genres. Delmhorst is also known for her collaborations with artists like Jeffrey Foucault and Peter Mulvey, with whom she forms the group Redbird. Her album "Cars" (2011) is a collection of cover versions of songs by The Cars. In 2025, she released the album "Ghosts in the Garden".
