KRS-One, born Lawrence Parker, is an American rapper and activist known for his work with the hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions and as a solo artist. His notable albums include "Criminal Minded" (1987) with BDP and "Return of the Boom Bap" (1993) as a solo artist. His music often addresses social and political issues. KRS-One is also the founder of the Stop the Violence Movement and the Temple of Hip Hop, organizations focused on promoting non-violence and education within hip-hop culture.
