Kyuss was an American stoner rock band formed in 1987 in Palm Desert, California. Considered pioneers of the genre, they released four studio albums: "Wretch" (1991), "Blues for the Red Sun" (1992), "Welcome to Sky Valley" (1994), and "...And the Circus Leaves Town" (1995). Their second album, "Blues for the Red Sun," is regarded as a seminal work in the stoner rock genre. After disbanding in 1995, members continued their musical careers in bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator, and Fu Manchu.
