Lahav Shani is an Israeli conductor and pianist who has served as the chief conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra since 2018. In 2020, he became the music director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2023, he was appointed chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic, with his tenure set to begin in the 2026/2027 season. Shani is known for his interpretations of works by composers such as Bruckner, Beethoven, and Shostakovich. His recording of Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra was released in 2023 under the Warner Classics label.
