Lars Wouters van den Oudenweijer is a Dutch clarinetist who studied at the Juilliard School in New York under Charles Neidich. He has won several first prizes at international competitions, including the 'International Competition for Youth' in Lisbon in 1994 and the 'RTBF Jeunes Solistes' in Brussels in 1993. In 1999, he made his debut at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and performed in the Rising Star series during the 2001-2002 season. He has played in major concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Musikverein in Vienna, Cité de la Musique in Paris, and Philharmonie in Berlin. As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras like the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of the Netherlands, New Ensemble Amsterdam, and Amsterdam Sinfonietta. In 2005, he premiered the Clarinet Concerto 'Yellow Darkness' by Willem Jeths. He has been a member of Spectrum Concerts Berlin since 2000 and has collaborated with quartets such as Škampa Quartet, Quatuor Danel, Quatuor Ebène, and Altenberg Trio Wien. In 2003, he received an Edison award for his debut CD. He is the founder and artistic director of the 'Dutch Tone Festival' in 's-Hertogenbosch and teaches at the Fontys Music Academy in Tilburg.
