Ledisi Anibade Young is an American singer, songwriter, and actress, known professionally as Ledisi. Born in New Orleans and raised in Oakland, she formed the band Anibade in 1995 and released her debut album "Soulsinger" in 2000. Her third album, "Lost & Found" (2007), earned two Grammy nominations. In 2020, she founded her own label, Listen Back Entertainment, and released "The Wild Card". In 2021, she released "Ledisi Sings Nina", a tribute to Nina Simone, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Her music encompasses R&B, jazz, and neo soul genres.
