Lilacs & Champagne is a side project formed by Alex Hall and Emil Amos, founding members of the experimental instrumental group Grails from Portland, Oregon. The duo creates sound collages inspired by 1970s film soundtracks, dub, and trip-hop. They debuted in 2012 with the album "Lilacs & Champagne," followed by "Danish & Blue" (2013), "Midnight Features Vol. 1: Shower Scene" (2014), and "Midnight Features Vol. 2: Made Flesh" (2015). After nearly a decade-long hiatus, they returned in 2024 with "Fantasy World." Their music combines sampling with live instrumentation, crafting unique sonic landscapes.
