Lisa Knapp is an English folk singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born in 1974 in Balham, London. Her debut album, "Wild and Undaunted" (2007), was named Folk Album of the Year by Mojo magazine. In 2013, she released "Hidden Seam," featuring collaborations with Martin Carthy and Kathryn Williams. This album includes "Shipping Song," with lyrics derived from BBC Radio 4's Shipping Forecast. In 2017, she released the concept album "Till April Is Dead – A Garland Of May," exploring traditional songs and rituals associated with the month of May. Knapp is known for her innovative approach to traditional music and has collaborated with artists such as Graham Coxon and David Tibet.
