Eva Narcissus Boyd, known professionally as Little Eva, was an American singer who rose to fame in 1962 with the hit song "The Loco-Motion". Born in Belhaven, North Carolina, she moved to Brooklyn, New York, as a teenager, where she worked as a babysitter for songwriters Carole King and Gerry Goffin. They wrote "The Loco-Motion" for her, which became a number one hit in the United States. Her other successful songs include "Keep Your Hands Off My Baby" and "Let's Turkey Trot". After a decline in popularity in the 1970s, she returned to performing in the 1980s. She passed away in 2003 from cervical cancer.
