Elizabeth LaCharla Wright, known professionally as Lizz Wright, is an American singer and songwriter born on January 22, 1980, in Hahira, Georgia. She began her musical career in her father's gospel choir. In 2003, she released her debut album "Salt," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz chart. This was followed by "Dreaming Wide Awake" (2005), "The Orchard" (2008), "Fellowship" (2010), "Freedom & Surrender" (2015), and "Grace" (2017). In 2022, she released the live album "Holding Space," and in 2024, the studio album "Shadow." She has collaborated with artists such as Meshell Ndegeocello and Angélique Kidjo.
